Changing the routine

I am in a routine, and one that is not satisfying my needs. So I am going to change it... actually, I am going to get out of this routine all together and try to not have any routine.

Well, that's not true. I do want a routine. I want to wake up at 8:30am every day. I can't do it two days a week and wake up at 11am every other day. But that's not why I'm posting.

I am talking about my social routine. Right now I tend to work work work, and do nothing else. I don't date, I don't go to parties. I see the same three people every week.

Don't get me wrong, I love chillin with those three folks very much (Wilson, Levres, and Preacherman)... but I need to do more different things. So thats where the problem comes.

Freshman year, and most of sophomore year I did things. I went to parties a lot.. a real lot in fact. It was to the point that I wanted to go to one at least twice a week and was sort of upset if I didnt have anything to do on a Saturday or whatever.

Once I started working more, I stopped going out. This past year (Junior year) I have been having folks over weekly.. since I havent been meeting anyone new, its the same three folks every week.

So, what do I do? Date more, go to parties/bars? That is the only stuff I can think of. Dating more is obviously the best idea. I will try to improve on that, but until that happens I should find parties. Everyone I knew who used to tell me about parties has either failed out or graduated. Unless you keep in touch with the 'party scene' you never know what is going on. Or you need to know someone in it... which I don't.

That brings me to sort of the other problem. I feel bad going to bars. Wilson and Levres are not 21 (yet), so I feel bad going without them. And it sucks going alone... but I do know a couple folks who have mentioned I should come out to the bars with 'em.

One is a couple I've known for about a year.. Wilson really dislikes her a lot.. I don't quite agree with him though. The only problem with the girl I see is she is an attention whore, although that is a pretty major problem. The girl can tend to be a cock block in a social situation.

My RA is the other person who's invited me out (and Preacherman). Like, this Thursday for instance (Stone will be here, so im not going). I think she goes to clubs, and its weird to hang out with your RA like that.

Everyone else I know either is not 21 or does not drink. It's weird actually. Or I don't know the people well enough (or don't want to). I don't ever become friends with people in my classes... I know enough CS majors thank you. So its tough.

Anyway, I am wasting time.. gotta study for the exams.
